Chris Rock sought counseling after being smack by Will Smith at the Oscars, says Leslie Jones

“Chris Rock and his ex-wife Malaak Compton-Rock have two grown daughters together”

According to Leslie Jones, Chris Rock sought treatment as a result of Will Smith’s smack at the 2022 Oscars.
It was embarrassing, she told People. He was greatly impacted. People must realize that his girls and parents witnessed this. He was forced to accompany his girls to counseling. Rock and his ex-wife Malaak Compton-Rock have two grown daughters together: Lola, 21, and Zahra, 19.
Jones, who was at home that evening and was watching the program, said she was “infuriated” to see the incident unfold live on television.

She continued, “You don’t know that I was going to get in my car and drive up there. I felt so awful.

She continued by saying that Will Smith, who won the “Oscar” for best actor for his performance in King Richard only seconds later, ought to have made an effort to make amends with Rock when he received his honor. In his acceptance speech, Smith expressed regret to the Academy and his fellow candidates, but he refrained from apologizing to Rock specifically.
Before presenting the trophy for the best documentary feature at the March 2022 Oscars event, Rock made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Rock allegedly made a reference to the actress’s shorn head when he said Pinkett Smith was getting ready to shoot a G.I. Jane sequel. (Pinkett Smith has been outspoken about the alopecia she has caused in her hair.)

Will Smith walked onto the stage and slapped Chris Rock. As he sat back down, he snarled at Rock, “Keep my wife’s name out of your fu*ing mouth!”
In an Instagram post the next day, he apologized directly to Rock. In July 2022, he issued a second apology via video message.
“There is no part of me that thinks that was the right way to behave in that moment,” he added.
Following the incident, Smith announced his resignation from the Academy and was barred from attending Academy activities for ten years. He is still eligible for future Oscar Awards nominations and victories, and he will keep the Oscar he received at the 2022 event.
